My name is Susy Bohm, Susy Mendez Baltazar was my name prior to getting married. I was born in the country of Peru on February 24 1990. I grew up in a Christ like environment, both my parents were strong believers in Jesus Christ, my testimony becoming a Christian is not a very impressive one. I can’t remember a time in my life where I didn’t believe the gospel of salvation. My mom told me a story once when I was about 6 years old, I came home very excited from school one day and told her I needed to be baptized because the pastor at my school said if I had Jesus in my heart then I needed to be baptized, and I guess that would be my testimony.
I often think that God had to saved me at a young age to be able to walk for the valleys I had to go throughout my life. I would like to skip those valleys here and get to the day I met my sweet husband October 2017. Valance Bohm: from a State I have never heard about in my life, met me, a girl from the mountains of Peru, I often tell my now husband that I believe that day God open the heavens and poured his blessings over us like pouring rain and continues to do that. We got married on February 29, 2020, and now we have two beautiful children, Susita and Cervantes Bohm and we live in a
peaceful place in the country in Maine.
I arrived in Maine, USA on february18th 2020, I still remember the view from the plane when we were about to land at the airport in Bangor Maine. It was the most beautiful view. It was in the middle of winter, and I took some photos that I still have.
Peru is a beautiful country, with beaches, deserts, jungles, the most amazing mountains, but I have to say, Maine is my favorite place on earth, surrounded by trees that I love so much and then the lakes and rivers and ocean, the lighthouses, the birds and all the wildlife, not the squirrels so much that eat our strawberries, ( I'm still waiting to see a moose). This is where my heart is, it’s my home.
My love for photography started at a very young age, but it didn’t start by taking photos. It started with a desire to become an artist. I struggled at this, realizing I was not very good at drawing or painting. I told my parents I was really interested in photography, and I think it was on my 16th birthday that I got my very first real camera. It was a film canon camera that I left in Peru. That’s when my love for photography started.
